Kuchaman is famous for the production of onions and melons. Kuchaman City is a well developed city. There are 45 Wards in Kuchaman City. It is situated on the Jaipur Nagaur route. It is 120 kilometres (75 mi) from Jaipur and 101 km (63 mi) from Ajmer. Rail

During the reign of Jaswant Singh II, the first railway line of Marwar was laid from Sambhar Lake to Kuchaman via Nawan. It was opened for traffic from 1875 AD. Its length was 24 kilometers. This rail line was laid by the Rajputana-Malwa Railway.[25]

Now Kuchaman City railway station is a major railway station in Didwana-Kuchaman and Nagaur district, Rajasthan. Its code is KMNC. It serves City of Kuchaman. The station consists of 2 platforms. The station lies on Jodhpur – Delhi main line which connects Kuchaman to Jodhpur, Jaipur and Delhi as well as Merta Road – Rewari line and Phulera – Ajmer line. Kuchaman city railway station is located in the middle of the Jaipur – Jodhpur rail route. All the major trains operating on this route have a halt here.16 trains pass through the station.

Kuchaman is located on State Highway number 2 connecting Dausa, State Highway number 7 links Ajmer, Kishangarh with Hanumangarh and State Highway number 19 links Kuchaman with Jaipur and Jodhpur. RSRTC operates bus service to major cities in Rajasthan, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat. City buses are operated by RSRTC (as Lok gramin parivahan nigam) and private operators which provides services for connectivity to nearby towns and villeges. The private service operators also provides services for Gujrat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhaya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and other major cities of India. Kuchaman Ring Road is a project of Kuchaman Municipal council and Rajasthan PWD to reduce increasing traffic of Kuchaman city.

Air

There is no airport or airstrip located in Kuchaman. There are 2 helipads out of which one permanent helipad is located in Kuchaman Valley and one temporary helipad is located in the premises of Kuchaman College.

Kuchaman City has got a bunch of tourist spots that are not to be missed. The foremost attraction of this place is the age old magnificent Kuchaman Fort placed on top of a 1000 foot high cliff. Built in the 9th century by Rathore ruler Zalim Singh, this fort is itself a complete artwork of gold paint, stones and glasses. The view of the lowering city from this fort terrace is like a beautiful dream. There is the beautiful Meera Mahal built by Lord Ranjit Singh in reminiscence of Rathore poet and saint Meerabai, who spent her entire life worshipping Shri Krishna.

The fine miniature paintings on the walls of the Mahal are something which creates awe in the mind of the visitors. The Jal Mahal is another unique place where tourists can view the amazing architecture of a hidden swimming pool for the queens and princesses. These two royal pools were built inside the carved cloisters and arcades in such a technique, that it can control the water temperature. The Court or the Sabha Prakash, which was used by the kings to address the grievances of their prajas is another building worth visiting.

For tourists who have devotion for God, should visit the Lok Dev Temple, Ganesh Dungri and Shakti Peeth Shakumbhri. On the top of Shakambari Hill happens the yearly ‘Shakumbhri Mela’, which is a grand arrangement with people pouring in from all parts of Rajasthan. Best Time to Visit Kuchman City

Kuchaman has a hot weather prevailing in almost all the months of a year. Summer months starting from April to June are probably the worst months with temperature touching 48 degree Celsius. These months are best to be avoided for any visit.

Although hotels can give offers of huge discounts during summers, but travelling to various tourist location will be dreadful. Tourists planning a visit during July and August may face scanty rainfall, which can be at times refreshing. But winter season which starts post October to March, is the best time to visit Kuchaman. With a pleasant weather day long and a chilly climate post nightfall is relaxing. If someone is planning to visit during the winters, then do carry some woolens as there can be sudden temperature fluctuations at night and early morning.

Kuchaman city is very well connected all the major cities of India via roads. The place is about 132 km from Jaipur, 115km from Bikaner, 90km from Ajmer and 250 km from Jodhpur. Rented cabs, tourist cars given by travel agencies are available from all these major Rajasthan tourism locations. State government tourism AC buses also commute between these places and other parts of India.

If you are not a car or bus person and feel sick during the long journey hours, then opt for the train travel. The nearest railway station is the Bikaner Junction, which is around 115 km from Kuchaman. Various taxi and cab services are available just in front of the station which charges roughly Rs 2000/- for a trip to the Kuchaman city.

Sanganer Airport located at Jaipur which is roughly 145 km from Kuchaman, is the nearest airport service available. Taxis can charges about Rs 3000 from Airport to the city. One can also try the Jaipur airport and take a cab from that place to Kuchaman.
