Khunti is the administrative centre of the Khunti district in Jharkhand, India. It is located in the South Chotanagpur division of the Indian state of Jharkhand, and is one of the state’s 24 districts. Khunti is known across Jharkhand as the lac producer. This region produces a significant portion of India’s total lac. Lac is a natural polymer (resin) generated by Kerria lacca, a little insect (Kerr).

Panchgagh Fall ( Water fall )

Panchgagh is a grouping of five waterfalls. This waterfall was constructed by the damming of the famed Banai River. The water at Panchghagh does not fall from great heights. Even still, when one gets close to the water, one can nearly hear it roar, because all five streams crash on the rocks in a highly tumultuous manner. The water falls from a lower height, making the fast flow of water safe for tourists to enjoy. The majority of visitors come here for a picnic with family and friends. The natural beauty around the waterfall enhances its beauty and calm.

Angrabari –Shiv Temple

Angrabari is a Hindu temple complex that was renamed by the famed Hindu seer Shankaracharya Swami Swarupananda Saraswathi from Amreshwar Dham. It is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Ram and Sita, Hanuman, and Ganesh. The temple is said to include a Swayambhu Shiva Linga, which is often worshipped. The temple is also known as Amareshwar Dham because the god is said to have been worshipped by a Mango tree. Angrabadi temple complex is a wonderful temple complex in Khunti, set in the midst of quiet beauty and in a calm and serene atmosphere. The main Shivling of the temple is not covered by a roof. This is because every time an attempt was made to build a temple around the Holy Shivling, Lord Shiva appeared in the dream of the person working on it and begged to proceed with the construction of a roof.

The primary Shivling is currently hidden behind a Banyan Tree. Every year during Sawan season, a month-long local celebration is held. Many devotees from various parts of Jharkhand attend the temple on Mahashivratri Day. It is 9 kilometres from the district headquarters on the Khunti-Torpa route.

Dombari Buru

The majestic slopes of Dombari Buru, which had become crimson with blood when BirsaMunda launched his epic ulgulan (rebellion) against the British more than a century ago, will soon receive a much-needed facelift. India’s Archaeological Survey (ASI). Dombari Buru, located 50 kilometres from the state capital, rises determinedly over Sail Rakab hamlet, near to Ulihatu – the birthplace of the tribal figure.

Ulihatu

Ulihatu is the birthplace of Jharkhand’s “DhartiAaba,” BhagwanBirsaMunda. In 1835, he began the battle for liberty. It lies 37 kilometres north of the district headquarters and 80 kilometres from the state capital, Ranchi. Burmu Block to the east, Mandar Block to the south, Chanho Block to the west, and Patratu Block to the east surround Ulihatu. Ulihatu hamlet is surrounded by hills, and the scenery is breathtaking. It also features a sunset location near the village that is rarely visited by tourists. \

BirsaMrigVihar / Deer Park

The BirsaMrigVihar is nestled in the lovely sal forest of Kalamati in the Khunti district, about 20 kilometres from the capital city on the Ranchi-Khunti route. Geographical features and vegetation create a natural setting for deer breeding in captivity. MrigVihar has an area of approximately 54 acres and is located at 23011.85′ North latitude and 8501 60.92′ East latitude. BirsaMrigVihar has never looked back in enticing tourists since its doors were opened in 1987. MrigVihar is a popular tourist destination due to its natural beauty and proximity to Ranchi and Khunti.

Perwaghagh Fall

It is a lovely waterfall with pure water flow on Chatariver in Fatka panchayat of Torpa in the Khunti district. It is well known that the term “Perwa” means “Pigeon” and “ghagh” means “House of Pigeons,” which represents the “House of Pigeons” inside the waterfall. These pigeons are still thought to reside inside the waterfall.

Rani Fall, Khunti

This waterfall is approximately 20 kilometres from the district headquarters on the Khunti-Tamad route. It may be found on Tajnariver. Rani Falls is notable for its sluggish river flow and surrounding sand bank, which makes it safe for tourists.

How to reach:- By road it is 15 km from Khunti district headquarter and it is situated in Khunti-Tamad road.

GEL Church –Sarvda

It is an antique church that was built during the British time. This Church has British infrastructure and an interior design. It is situated in the Sarvda Panchayat of the Murhu block, surrounded by forest.

How to reach:- By road 14 kms from Murhu block headquater and 25 kms from district headquater.
