Maharaja Gajapati

The monarch of Paralakhemundi, Shri Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Deo, inherited the throne of the glorious Gajapati dynasty, who ruled Odisha for more than seven centuries. He was also Odisha’s first Prime Minister.

Chandragiri

Chandragirii is located in the Mohona Block’s Lobarsing Gram Panchayat. It is well-known for its Budhist temple, which is the tallest in South Asia. His Highness the Dalai Lama dedicated it in 2010.

Jiranga is located in Mohana Block’s Labarsing Gram Panchayat. It is close to Chandragiri and is known for its Budhist temple, which is the tallest in South Asia. His Highness the Dalai Lama dedicated it in 2010. Padmasambhava Mahavihara Monastery is its name. Sri Padmapada Vihara is another name for the revered sanctuary. Mahendragiri Hill

The superb Mahendragiri is the dosimali stone of the provinces of Andhra and Odisha, as well as the trisimali stone of the districts of Ganjam and Gajapati in Odisha, and Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh. The B N Palace, popularly known as the ‘Brundaban Palace,’ is a magnificent historical relic in Orissa’s Gajapati district. It was the Maharaja of Paralakhemundi’s former summer residence. It is set on the banks of the Mahendratanaya River, surrounded by dense teak forest. The B N Palace is a three-story spectacular structure with a subterranean floor.
