Chhotaudepur Museum

Kali Niketan

The monarchs of Chhota-Udepur were highly fond of art and architecture, thus they built exquisite palaces such as Kali-Niketan, which was initially known as Nahar Villa but was subsequently renamed to Kali-Niketan, which means the residence of Goddess Kali, in honour of the family Goddess, Mahakali. Kali-Niketan was built as a summer palace for the current owner Maharaj Sajjansinh’s grandfather Maharaja Fatehsinhji in the late 1800s. Hafeshwar

Hafeshwar temple is located in Kawant taluka, around 40 kilometres from the major town of Chhota Udepur. It is an old Shiva temple that spends the most of the year immersed in water. Only the temple’s flag can be seen; the rest is drowned beneath the Narmada catchment area’s waters. According to locals, this is an ancient Shiva temple that has been on a hill for a long time.

By road:

Chhotaudepur is 224 KM from Gandhinagar, the state capital and 107 km from Vadodara. It is located on National Highway 56. There are various state transport (ST) buses and private luxury coaches from all over Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. There is good frequency of buses and other transport for Vadodara. It is located very near to MP border ( 26 KM)

By rail:

Chhotaudepur is connected to Vadodara by train also.

By air:

There is no airport at Chhotaudepur.
