Kendrapara is a small town and municipality in the Indian state of Odisha‘s Kendrapara district. It is the administrative centre of the Kendrapara district. Hukitola

Hukitola is located on Jambu island in the Bay of Bengal, in the Mahkalapara Block of the Kendrapara District. The British built the edifice, which has a plinth area of almost 7000 square feet, on the island in 1866/67 during the ” Naanka” drought. This was used to store rice transported by sea from Burma and other countries. It attests to the advancements in building technique made in the nineteenth century. The monument, a towering structure with an underground rainwater collection system, is a reminder of the state’s great maritime heritage.

Gahirmatha

Odisha’s only Turtle Sanctuary is located adjacent to the Bhitarkanika National Park. The Turtle Sanctuary, which is part of Gahirmatha Beach, is where one may see Olive Ridley Turtles. Batighar

This is the first lighthouse built on India’s eastern coast. It is around 45 kilometres from the District Headquarters. It is located on the opposite bank of the Kharinasi River in the hamlet of Batighar. It is surrounded by lovely natural beauty. This was once known as KaudiaDwip and was utilised as a hunting place for Kujanga Kings. The construction of this lighthouse began on December 6, 1836, and it was lit on October 16, 1837. The stones were brought from Barabati Fort in Cuttack. The foundation wall is 15 feet thick and 125 feet tall. At ground level, the diameter is 10 feet. There are 138 cement concrete stairs and a 16-step ladder to get to the summit. This lighthouse is unique in that it has been operating from the day it was lighted, and it is currently controlled by Calcutta Light House.

Bhitar Kanika

Bhitara Kanika was governed by the former Kanika Estate. It was named a refuge on April 21, 1975, and is covered in dense mangrove forests and salty waterways. It is a world-renowned location for natural crocodile rearing. The national park is located in the estuarial region of Brahmani-Baitarani, in the north eastern part of Kendrapara districts, and spans an area of 672 square kilometres with mangrove forests and marsh. Bhitar Kanika is home to over 215 bird species, including winter migratory birds from Europe and Central-Asia, as the park provides a congenial atmosphere and serene, pollution-free environment. Shri Baldev Jew

Shri Baldev Jew Temple is located near Ichhapur, around 5 kilometres from Kendrapara Town. Here, one may witness a stunning temple with several minor temples on its side, displaying the architectural marvel of ancient Odisha. Lord Baladev, together with his brother and sister, is the major deity worshipped at the temple. After the hallowed seven steps, an idol depicting Tulasi as Goddess in a sitting position is also there.
