Sunabeda

Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary is located near Patora. A 63-meter-high waterfall named Godhosh in the middle of lush woodland adds to the visual beauty of the area. It is just 40 kilometres from the headquarters of Komna Block. Sunabeda, a Gram Panchayat, is located 40 kilometres from the Komna Block Headquarters. On the day of Dusserra, the residents of the area revere the goddess SUNADEI, the ruling Goddess of the plateau. Sunabeda is a plateau mostly populated by Gond, Bhunjia, and Paharia. The Plateau is the headwaters of the rivers Jonk and Sundar. The plateau’s eastern side is quite abrupt and difficult, whereas the western side is sloping and easily accessible. The highest elevations on the plateau are Birbusi (3056ft) to the north and Kotpadar (3235ft) to the south. The entire plateau is a vast and important grazing area for cattle.
