Mau is around 315 kilometres east of Lucknow Uttar Pradesh capital with two principal roads, one National Highway 24 (101 km) from Gorachpur and one (110 km) to Varanarsi and the other (55 km) from Azamgarh to Vallia (85 km). It’s surrounded by districts – eastern Ballia, northern Deoria, west Azamgarh, and southern Gazipur.
