Rewari is a city and the seat of the Rewari Municipal Council in the Indian state of Haryana. It’s in Haryana’s south-west corner. It’s 82 kilometres from Delhi and 51 kilometres from Gurgaon.

Loca Shed

The world’s oldest still-functioning 1855-built steam engine Fairy Queen (locomotive) tourist train was repaired here. It is India’s only surviving steam loco shed and houses some of India’s last remaining steam locomotives. It lies 400 metres north of the Rewari railway [1]station entrance, 50 kilometres from Gurgaon, and 79 kilometres from New Delhi’s National Rail Museum at Chanakyapuri.

Historical Places

The red mosque (Lal Masjid) near the old courts (Kchahari) is one of the district’s most prominent historical sites. It was constructed in the year 1570 during the reign of King Akbar. Near the mosque, there are also two memorials.

Baag wala Talab (Near Old Tehsil Office, Rewari)

This pond is located near Rewari’s former tehsil office. Ram Ahir, Rao Gujjarmal’s son, erected it. This pond is currently dry.

Bada Talab (Rao Tej Singh Talab) Near Old Town Hall Of Rewari

This pond is located near Rewari’s historic Town Hall. Rao Tej Singh constructed it (pakka-cemented) between 1810 and 1815. Rain/canal water fills this massive pond through underground inlets. This talab has separate bathing areas for ladies and gentlemen.

Shri Ghanteshwar Mandir, Main Market, Rewari

The “GHANTESHWAR MANDIR” is one of the district’s most well-known religious sites. It is located in the city’s centre. In the temple, there are statues of all the gods and goddesses of “SANATAN DHARMA.” It’s a three-story structure. The majority of the population visit this temple to pray. On the bank of the Bada Talab, there is a famus temple dedicated to Lord HANUMAN, which is visited by a huge number of people every Tuesday.
