Longtharai Mandir

Longtharai is Lord Shiva’s name in the Tribal dialect of Tripura’s KOK-BOROK language. According to legend, Shiva rested here in the hill of Longtharai on his way back from Kailash. As a result, the hill is known as Longtharai. Longtharai can also be translated as “Deep Valley.” This temple is also a renowned tourist destination in the Dhalai District.

Kamaleshwari Mandir

The temple is located in the Dhalai District’s Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat. This Temple is located in the town centre and is a popular pilgrimage destination. Goddess Kali is also known as Kamaleswari. The temple inspired the name of Kamalpur, the largest Sub-divisional Town. Kamaleswari Mandir is located approximately 35 kilometres from Ambassa, the District Headquarters of Dhalai, and 122 kilometres from Agartala, the State Capital of Tripura.

Dumboor Lake

Dumboor Lake is a lovely body of water found in Amarpur Sub Division, 120 kilometres from Agartala. The lake has the appearance of a tabour-shaped little drum, “Dumboor,” of Lord Shiva, from which the name “Dumboor” derives. A vast and breathtaking water feature of 41 square kilometres with an endless spell of luxuriant green foliage all around stands majestic for her extraordinarily lovely beauty and 48 islets in the middle of the lake. Additional attractions include migratory birds and water sports facilities. Tirthamukh is a Hydel Project near the lake from which the River Gomati originates, and it is here that the famous ‘Pous Sankranti Mela’ takes place every year on January 14th. The lake is formed by the confluence of the rivers Raima and Sarma. Various migratory bird species can be seen in the winter, and it contains a large reservoir of both natural and cultivated fish. “Narkel Kunja” has been developed on one of the islands.
