About Mainpuri

Mainpuri is a city in the Uttar Pradesh state of India, located in the Mainpuri district. It is the administrative seat of the Mainpuri district and is located 270 kilometres north-east of Agra. Mainpuri is located in the Braj area of Lord Krishna’s country, which has a long and storied history.

The twin Shiv Temples of Kale Mahadev and Shweat Mahadev can be seen on Devi Road. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, thousands of people flock to the Hanuman Temple on ancient Tehsil Road.

Saman Bird Sanctuary

Saman Sanctuary was established in 1990 to conserve the area’s significant population of sarus cranes. The Sanctuary, which is just approximately 5.25 square kilometres in size, is still one of the greatest spots in the state to see the beautiful sarus cranes. Saman Sanctuary is also a shelter for migrating birds such as the common teal, northern pintail, great white pelican, and many stork species. The Sanctuary’s resident storks include the painted stork, black-necked stork, open-billed stork, and woolly-necked stork.

How to Reach Mainpuri

Mainpuri is well connected with the other part of country by roads and trains.

Roadways : 

Buses go frequently from the main highways bus station to all major cities. However, if you travel to the district’s interior, there are a few additional bus stops, like Karhal bus stop, Mota bus stop, and Gopinath bus stop, all of which get a lot of traffic.

Railways : 

On January 1st, 1906, the whole line was inaugurated. It travels through the district’s heart, including stations at Shikohabad, where it connects to the main line, Araon, Kosma, Mainpuri, Bhongaon, and Mota, before crossing the Kali Nadi and linking with the Kanpur line at Farrukhbad.
