Nandanvan Jungle Safari

The Jungle Safari is located in Naya Raipur’s Sector 39. Naya Raipur is around 35 kilometres from Raipur Railway Station and 15 kilometres from Raipur Swami Vivekanand Airport. The Nandanvan Jungle Safari’s entire 800-acre region is lush green, with stunning sceneries. Several indigenous plant species contribute to the vegetation, resulting in a natural environment for the animals. It features a 130-acre body of water known as the ‘Khandwa Reservoir,’ which draws a variety of migrating bird species. Four safaris have been established: herbivore, bear, tiger, and lion safaris. Another 32 animal species will be on display at the new zoo.

In safari area, four safaris have been created so far;

Herbivore Safari – Area 30 ha.

Bear Safari – Area 20 ha.

Tiger Safari – Area 20 ha.

Lion Safari – Area 20 ha.

The entire safari area is surrounded by a 5 m. and 1.5 m. high chain link fence that is inverted at the top at a 60 degree angle. There is enough foliage, shelter, and water bodies in the region. A green belt has been established along the safari and service road, and 55000 saplings have been planted within the safari to boost habitat.

Vivekananda Ashram

The Ramakrishna seva samiti was founded in July 1957, thanks to the efforts of Swami Atmananda. Currently, 4 tigers are housed in Tiger Safari, while 106 herbivores, including Chital, Sambhar, Blue bull, Barking Deer, and Blackbucks, are kept in Herbivore Safari. Bear Safari currently features four bears.

Town Hall – town hall raipur

The Mahant Ghasi Das Memorial Museum has wonderfully displayed and carefully stored the rich cultural artefacts and archaeological digs. The museum has intricately sculpted idols, old stone inscriptions, and rare coins on display.

Vivekananda Sarovar

Being Raipur’s oldest lake. Vivekananda Sarovar is also known as the BudhaTalaab. According to legend, Budha Dev was the Adivasi’s most respected god, and this pond is devoted to him. The pond was renamed Vivekananda Sarovar to give it a more contemporary appearance. A magnificent paradise has been constructed for guests right in the centre of the lake. This is known as the Nilabh Garden. Butterflies are fluttering. On this island-garden, fountains omit colourful lights and flowers flood the air with a lovely aroma. In the middle of the lake, a 37-foot-tall monument of Swami Vivekananda has been erected.

Dudhadhari Temple

The Dudhadhari Temple, built in the 17th century, is Raipur’s oldest temple. Lord Rama worshipers are enchanted by the temple’s historic mystery. The Dudhadhari Temple, which belongs to the Vaishnav sect, has genuine Ramayana sculptures. The artworks from the Ramayana era are exceptionally uncommon, making this temple one-of-a-kind. According to legend, there once lived a Mahan (Swami Balhhadra Das) who was a great devotee of Hanuman. Because he could only subsist on milk (“Dudh-Ahari”), this shrine dedicated to Lord Rama became known as the Dudhadhari Temple. Jait Singh, the Ka’churl King, built it (1603-1614 AD). Mahamaya Temple

Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple

The famed Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple is a very important Hindu sanctuary. This temple is located 5 kilometres from Raipur on the banks of the Kharun River in Chhattisgarh. The Kalchuri Kings established this territory as their administrative capital at first. Lord Shiva is the primary deity of the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple.

According to a stone inscription, it was erected in 1402 by Hajiraj Naik during the reign of Brahmdeo Rai, son of Kalchuri King Ramehandra. The Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum still houses Brahmdeo Rai’s enormous Sanskrit writing.
