Naimisharanya  is also known as Neemsar or Neemkhar.  It is location in Sitarpur, near Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. It is a land steeped with Hindu mythology linking it to Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Sati and Lord Shiva. Naimisharanya is situated on the banks of river Gomathi, a tributary of river Ganges.
