Chamoli is a district in the Indian state of Uttrakhand. Situated amidst snow-capped mountains, this place is quite beautiful. Chamoli is located on the Badrinath road near the Alaknanda River. It is a district in the state of Uttaranchal. It is one of the major Dharmil places. A large number of tourists come here. The natural beauty of Chamoli attracts tourists towards it. 1 Badrinath

The temple opens every year between April and May. During the third week of November it stays closed during the winter. In Badrinath, which is known collectively as Panch Badri, there’s also Char Badri. This is Dhyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Adi Badri, and Old Age Badri, the other four.

3 Hemkund Shahib

Hemkund is also known as Snow Lake. It is situated at an altitude of 4329 meters above sea level. There are 7 mountain ranges, known as the Hemkund Mountains, capped in snow. Besides this, the wire gurudwara next to this lake is one of Sikhism’s main worship sites. Devotees of Hindu and Sikh from all over the world come here for a big visit. Guru Gobind Singh ji, Sikh’s 10th Guru, is thought to have penance here. The perfect time to visit this place is between July and October.

4. Gopeshwar

In and around the city of Gopeshwar there are many temples. The old Shiva temple, the Vaitami Kund, etc are among the main attractions here.

5. Sati Mata Anasuiya Temple

Sati Mata Anasuiya Temple (Sanskrit: अनस्वयवाय) is located in a place called Mandal in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India. It is a real test of faith to reach these places situated on the extreme peaks of the Himalayas amidst nature away from the urban tumult, as well as for ordinary tourists, this journey is nothing short of an adventure. This temple is situated on the high inaccessible hills of the Himalayas, so one has to walk on foot to reach here.

6. Panch Prayag

Panch Prayag has a confluence of five major rivers originating from the Garhwal Himalayas. These five rivers are Vishnu Prayag, Nanda Prayag, Karna Prayag, Rudra Prayag and Dev Prayag.

The two major rivers Alkhananda and Bhagirathi are interlinked here. Apart from this, there are many famous temples and river ghats here. It is believed that Lord Vishnu asked for three steps of land from King Bali in Dev Prayag. The fair is organized here on the occasion of Ramnavami, Dussehra and Basant Panchami.

8. Vishnuprayag

Vishnuprayag is a township located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India. It is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda River and the Dhauliganga River and is one of the Panch Prayag.

It is one of the famous mountain shrines of Hinduism. It is located at the confluence of Prayag Dhauli Ganga and Alaknanda rivers, Vishnuprayag. The ancient temple and the Vishnu Kund embellished with the statue of Lord Vishnu at the confluence are worth visiting. It is situated at an altitude of 1382 m above sea level. Vishnu Prayag is located on the Joshimath-Badrinath motorway.

9. Valley of Flowers

For natural lovers, this place is like heaven. Frank Smith and RL discovered this place. Holdworth did in 1930. The highest number of wild flower varieties can be seen in this valley. According to the legend, Hanuman ji came from here to take Sanjeevani booti to protect Laxman ji’s life. There are 521 varieties of plants in this valley. The place was declared as a national park in 1982. Apart from this, you will get to see many animals like, black bear, deer, brown bear, leopard, cheetah etc.

10. Auli

Auli’s a lovely place. Auli is the right destination if you want to explore the snowy mountains and skiing. By way of Joshimath, you can hit Auli. The gap is about 16 kilometres. In winter there are many rivals. The Garhwal Mandal Vikas Sadan is organising the case. Furthermore, the views of mountains Nanda Devi, Kamat Oud and Dunagiri from here are also visible. Since January at the time of March Auli has been completely coated with a layer of snow. The snow is about 3 metres thick here. Here more visitors are attracted by the ski programmes in Auli.

How to Reach:

By Rail:

Rishikesh is the closest train station. You can travel by train from New Delhi to Rishikesh or Haridwar. Chamoli can be easily reached by taxi and bus from Rishikesh.

By Air:

Joligrant is the closest airport. It is 221 km from Chamoli. It is situated.

By Road:                       

Both buses travel from Dehradun to Chamoli, from Haridwar, from Rishikesh, from Nainital to Almora. From cities such as Delhi or Chandigarh and Ambala you can comfortably enter Haridwar, Dehradun or Rishikesh, then you can take the bus or taxi to Chamoli.
