The special thing is that all these temples are one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of the Goddess, where there is a crowd of devotees all the time. Let us tell that during the days of Navratri which lasts till 14 October, different forms of Maa Durga are worshipped.

  1. Mangala Gauri Temple

Maa Mangala Gauri, one of the 51 Shaktipeeths located in Gaya, Bihar, is a very famous temple. A wonderful statue of Maa Mangala is installed in this temple dedicated to Goddess Sati. This temple is situated on the Bhasmakuta mountain. There is a piece of mother Sati’s breast in the sanctum sanctorum of Maa Mangalagouri temple. During the month of Navratri, there is a crowd of devotees here. From morning people come to see Maa Mangala Gauri by putting a line.

How to reach: You will get many local trains from Gaya to go to Maa Mangala Gauri. Both train and flight facilities are available to reach Gaya. Maa Mangala Gauri Temple is located just 7 kilometers away from the airport. However, if you are coming by train then you will have to travel 17 kms to reach here.

2. Maha Kali Devi Temple

Maha Kali Devi Temple is also known as Harsiddhi Temple. Located in Ujjain, this temple is situated on a small hill. According to Hindu mythology, the upper lip of Goddess Sati fell on the Harsiddhi temple. The planets Kaliya, Mahalakshmi and Saraswati as well as forms of several goddesses are worshiped here. If you plan to visit Ujjain in Navratri, then definitely go to Maha Kali Devi temple for darshan.

How to reach: You can choose either flight or train to reach Ujjain. After reaching there, you will easily get local services to reach Maha Kali Devi Temple. Taxis, autos or cabs are available 24 hours a day, through which you can reach the temple. At the same time, the temple is about 56 kilometers away from the airport.

3. Tripura Sundari Temple

Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. According to Hindu mythology, the right leg of Sati fell during the dance of destruction of Lord Shiva. The old city is situated in Udaipur, about 60 km from Agartala. This temple was built by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in the year 1501. Here devotees worship Maa Kali, who is seated in the form of Soroshi.

How to reach: You can reach Udaipur by bus, train or flight. After this, you will easily get cabs or bus services from here, through which you can reach the temple.

4. Mahalaxmi Temple

In Navratri, not only the people of Mumbai but people from far and wide come to visit Mahalaxmi temple. There is a different beauty to be seen here in Navratri. The Mahalakshmi temple located in Kolhapur is one of the main Shakti Peethas, where the left hand of Mata Sati fell. Here the devotees keep their wishes in front of the mother. Here the image of Mahalakshmi is carved in black stone, not only this, a grand festival is also organized here during the months of Navratri.

How to reach: You will get both train and bus facilities to reach Kolhapur. It is quite easy to reach Kolhapur from Mumbai. After reaching Kolhapur, you will get both regular taxis and buses, through which you can reach the temple.

5. Ambaji Mata Temple
Ambaji Mata Temple located in Gujarat is very famous as well as ancient. One of the Shaktipeeths of Maa Amba Bhavani, people have immense reverence for this temple. The specialty of this temple is that there is no idol of Bhavani in it, but a Shree Yantra is installed here. Which has been decorated in a very special way, which looks like the mother herself is seated. The place is very special to visit in Navratri. In this temple of Gujarat, people come from far and wide to see the mother.

How To Reach: Ambaji Mata Temple is situated on the border of Gujarat and Rajasthan. It is located at a distance of 45 kms from Mount Abu, for which you can get both bus and train services. Whereas from Gujarat you will get both bus and taxi services to reach here. If you are going from Mount Abu, it is better to take bus services.

6. Mata Mawai Dham Temple

Mawai Mata Temple located in Uttar Pradesh is very famous. This magnificent temple dedicated to Durga Mata, is the center of people’s faith and spirituality.
